She attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for voice and got a dual degree in Music Business and Songwriting at University of Miami’s Frost School of Music and recently graduated with her Master’s for Music in Studio Composition at SUNY Purchase College’s Conservatory of Music. These moments are special for myself & those involved, & these moments & experiences are what I’m constantly chasing in my life.

teaching experience

Amira has been teaching early music education classes for children from 4 months-6 years old since 2015. She was the assistant manager and music teacher at Hands On! A Musical Experience (NYC) from 2015-2018 and the head teacher at TLB Music (NYC) from 2018-2020. Amira has been teaching lyric writing workshops at Bronx Community College as well as performing and speaking at the college consistently since 2017. She’s also taught adults and children privately since 2015.

MUSICAL TRAINING

Amira has been immersed in music ever since she was a little girl. At 4 years old, she started her classical piano training in Russia and continued her studies in NYC at the Kaufman’s Center’s renowned Special Music School with classical pianist Natela Mchedlishvili & grammy-nominated jazz pianist Hector Martignon.

Amira discovered that playing piano wasn’t her only passion and joined City Lights Youth Theater to perform musical theater shows. She quickly fell in love with Broadway and pursued private singing lessons to ensure she could attend LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts. After auditioning and getting into both the Instrumental and Vocal studios at LaGuardia, she decided committing to voice. There, she was ensemble in Ragtime as a sophomore, was double cast as Avril/Mallory and Angel City 4 Alto in City of Angels as a junior, and had her own act in the annual talent show, Rising Stars, as a senior. She was also able to discover that she could write songs and thoroughly enjoyed the songwriting process. By her senior year, she performed her original songs in front of large audiences, and was the Grand Prize Winner of Star Chance, which led her to choose the path to a songwriting career.

Amira attended the Conservatory of Music at SUNY Purchase for Studio Composition (Songwriting). There, she studied with Ted Piltzecker, James McElwaine, and Allison Bellinck. After completing her first year at Purchase, she transferred to University of Miami’s Frost School of Music dual program for Music Business and Songwriting (Graduated 2014 - Bachelor of Music / Business Administration Minor). There, she studied private voice with jazz vocalist Lisanne Lyons, performed at Bruce Hornsby’s Festival Miami Showcase, and gained the proper knowledge to manage her own artist career. Unfortunately, she did have some vocal mishaps throughout college which led her to study with vocal coaches Linda Carroll and William Reilly in NYC. They gave her the tools to avoid vocal injury in the future by providing her knowledge on vocal hygiene and specific exercises to prevent pre-nodules and nodules.
